Lineage: Punto Rojo x Purple Afghan Kush

The lineage gives this strain an amazing hybrid feel. Not just an average, boring blended hybrid, instead you get distinct pieces of relaxing zen from the PAK, and an uplifting, euphoric punch from the Punto Rojo.

The nose is heavy on sweaty lemons with a gassy, funky, slightly earthy background. The flavor brings out a bit more of the earthy, spicy notes.

Nugs are nice and sticky, with perfectly milky trichome heads and a beautiful bag appeal.

Effects are strong and I’m liking them a lot. This is one of my favorite hybrids I’ve had in a long time, it’s very full bodied and enjoyable. It feels like a nice classic weed high from back in the day, in my opinion.

Hey guys, today I’ve got something new; a company named Revelry Hemp decided to reach out and send me a few things.

This isn’t the first time; I’ve had companies reach out and send me product before, but none have been good enough to suggest to anyone (quite the opposite!), so I usually throw away their product and forget about them. I like to focus on the positive and just promote good brands.

This time is different though, Revelry sent me some really cool stuff that I’ve never seen in my 20 years of smoking, as well as some fire flower. If you guys have seen my videos or posts where I explain what I look for in a vendor, then you know I avoid brands that popped up after the 2018 farm bill, too many of them are just money hungry people who don’t care about their customers, only the fast cash.

It gives me peace of mind to go with vendors that have had a presence in this space for much longer than this current hemp trend, and these guys fit my criteria. They’ve been involved in the legacy market for almost 15 years making these super cool smell-proof bags and kits, and they recently started selling THCa flower, so I was very hyped to try some out. I’ll make separate posts to review the flower they sent me, (hint; it’s great, I’ll link them here!) but check out this smell proof kit.

This rubber around the edge seals completely, and the zipper even has this nice metal latch so it can close completely and stay smell-proof.

    Here’s what’s inside, and I got hyped over this stuff, because pretty much all of it is brand new to me. This is a rolling tray made of hemp;

it feels like a nicer, higher quality plastic kind of material, and the funnel on the corner is something I’ve never seen before, but it’s been so useful. I love this design. Definitely my new go-to tray.

Next, a little grinder made of the same hemp material.

It’s not gonna replace my stainless steel flower mill, but it actually works surprisingly well, and fits perfectly in it’s little slot. Great for on the go!

There’s a slot for your lighter, and one is for these rolling papers that came with the kit, which also include these filter tips in the pack!

Just one more thing I’ve never seen before that I thought was a really cool touch.

The flower comes in these really nice, dispensary style bags, with all the information you’d want, and a working link to their COA’s in a consistently updated dropbox folder.

I’ll review both of these strains, Crunch Berries & White Gummies, in their own videos and posts, but I thought all of this stuff was super cool, and wanted to show it all off! I’m very happy I had the chance to give all this stuff a try, shoutout to revelry for sending it my way!

  • Gas Light – LIT Farms THCa Flower (Supreme Tier) Review

Today we’re taking a look at Gas Light by LIT Farms. They have the genetics listed as Blue Petrol x Wedding Cake, but I believe this is a mistake. LIT has bred their own cut of Gas Light, and their cut is E85 x RS11. I think it’s more likely that they’re selling their own cut of Gas Light and just got the description wrong on accident.

The nose on this strain makes me think I’m right, because I get a lot of gas on the scent here, very reminiscent of the nose on the E85 I’ve had. Very gassy primarily, with a little bit of sweetness baked in.

The flavor in the vape brings out more of the sweetness, with a little bit of a sugary flavor in there. Not as much gas as on the nose. This one smokes and vapes very smooth, it’s a nice feeling on the throat.

This strain really shines, effects-wise. It’s a POTENT indica, with a very relaxing, calm, melt into the couch type of stoney vibe to it. It is a VERY strong herb, not recommended for anyone who’s sensitive to THC! This one comes with a strong punch that can easily knock you out.

  • Taking a Tolerance Break: Tips, Tricks, & How I Put My Herb Consumption On Pause

Before I get into this, here’s a little background on me: I’ve been smoking herb in various forms for about 15 years now, so my body and mind are both incredibly used to all the effects of THC.

In my earlier years, taking tolerance breaks was a very difficult thing for me. I believe this is because I was young, depressed, had worse diet and exercise habits, and was just generally unhappier in life. Much like the Rat Park Experiment, when my life improved in general, it became much easier to put things like herb down for a while.

Everyone is different in this regard, and it also boils down to the length and intensity of your own herb habit. This is entirely based on my personal experiences, yours may vary!

When Is It Time To Take A Break?

Maybe you have a concrete reason to take a break, like dental work, applying to a new job, legal issues, or maybe you just ran out. Personally, I know it’s time for a break when I just can’t seem to get high anymore. No matter how many edibles I eat, how many bowls I vape, or how many blunts I smoke, I’m just not getting where I want to be. Maybe a little tired, but definitely not high.

Other times, if I’m smoking a little bit too much, I can feel my brain start to get a bit frazzled. Maybe I’ll be a bit more on edge than usual, a little more anxious. Too many thoughts in my head, not enough processing. I believe this is my body telling me it’s time to take a break from the herb, so I do. Maybe there are other factors at play during those times, but those breaks always help me regain some mental clarity.

What Are The Withdrawals? How Long Do They Last?

These are my biggest issues when withdrawing from herb. The short term ones last ~10 days, for me. The long term ones can last for months, depending on my habit.

    Short Term:

    • 1. No Sleep, Night Sweats & Intense Dreams: Night time is where my withdrawal gets the worst, by far. I’m basically an insomniac for about a week or two, When I do manage to get any sleep, my dreams are insane. I don’t really remember my dreams at all when I’m smoking, and they come back with a vengeance during breaks. Sometimes they’re even nightmares, or sleep paralysis. Then, dreams or not, I’ll wake up drenched in a cold sweat. Happens every time I stop smoking. Starts getting better after 5-7 days, fully fixed within 2 weeks.
    • 2. No Appetite. Eating becomes hard. Rather than hunger or fullness, I mostly just feel nausea. I’ll force myself to eat little meals regardless, because obviously I have to, but it just feels gross. This one starts getting better after about 3 days for me, and then basically gets back to normal.
    • 3. Restlessness. I’ll feel a little bit anxious, tense, jittery, my thoughts will be racing, and I won’t be able to focus on anything. This one only lasts 2 or 3 days for me, but it makes it hard to get past those first few days!

    Long Term:

    • 1. Boredom. After the short term effects, this one usually becomes the hardest part, for me. Those initial symptoms might be mostly gone, but my brain will still be getting used to finding fun and stimulation without herb.
    • 2. Phantom Highs. I’m not sure what it is, maybe THC being released from my fat cells, but I’ll randomly feel high throughout my day for a solid month. It seems most common in the morning, or when getting my heart rate up.

    Things That Help Me:

    • 1. Filling My Time. (Reading, Hobbies, Work, Errands, etc)

The more of my time and brainpower that I can fill up, the better. That means I have less time to sit there thinking about how much I want to smoke some herb. So, in the first few days of breaks, I’ll be as productive as I can possibly be. I’ll go for a run in the morning, shower, get some work done, read a book for a while, drive over to some stores and check them out, run some errands, and spend as much time with hobbies as i can. I’ll play guitar, paint, make a collage, skateboard, anything. It’s a good chance to catch up on things I may have fallen behind in, and at this point, focusing on anything besides herb is a win.

    • 2. Exercise.

Exercise gives me a natural buzz, fills up my time as I mentioned earlier, and gets the dopamine system back on track. Herb releases dopamine, so when we take a break, our body isn’t producing as much as we’re used to. Exercise is a great way to get my dopamine levels back to a regular level, much quicker than without exercising. It gives a natural, calming buzz that completely takes my mind off of herb and the slight edginess that comes with taking a break. It also helps me sleep better during withdrawal, the more tired out I can get my body, the better I’m gonna sleep.

    • 3. Drinking Tea. (Replacing Flower Rituals)

As a big flower guy, grinding the herb and packing a bowl is a big piece of my daily rituals, and becomes something I miss when I’m on a break. So, I’ll find ways to replace it. My favorite is tea; The process of boiling water, picking a tea,  steeping it, and slowly drinking the warm cup is a great ritual replacement for me. It gives me a replacement to almost every part of the herb experience.

    • 4. Journaling

Journaling helps me with two main parts of withdrawal; the cravings and the mental tension. If I’m craving a smoke, I’ll write down exactly why I want to smoke, what I think it will accomplish for me, what other ways I could accomplish that, and how I’m making a better decision for myself by waiting to have that smoke. I’ll even start before my break, journaling about my lack of high, and general dissatisfaction with smoking, and Reading this back can help my cravings as well. In a more standard way, if my mind is a little scattered or tense due to the withdrawal, journaling is a great way to get my thoughts in order and feel a bit better. It brings a bit of calm to what can feel like a storm.

    • 5. Tracking On Apps ($$)

When I take a break, I’ll download a habit quitting app. I use one that shows me how long I’ve gone, and exactly how much money I’ve saved in the process. Seeing that dollar amount go up and up is a great motivator for me to keep it going. I like to take the money I save, throw it in it’s own savings account, and then treat myself to something nice after the break.

    • 6. Switching up media (No weed music/shows/movies)

I don’t know about you, but a LOT of the music that I listen to has lyrics about herb. Hearing that just makes me want to smoke, so I switch it up as much as I can. I generally try to avoid any media about herb during the break, even subreddits related to it.

    • 7. Ingesting CBD oil

CBD OIL specifically can help bring me some calm when the break gets me feeling a little tense.

    Things That DON’T Help Me:

    • 1. Substance Switching (Ie; Drinking)

I see this as a common tip; Just drink beer every night instead! I don’t like to do that. Aside from that being a slippery slope, I just enjoy challenging myself to total sobriety. I feel that I can’t achieve what I want to with the break, if my brain is still clouded by some other substance, no matter what it is. But again, this guide is just what helps me personally, I won’t judge you if you have some drinks or whatever to get yourself through.

    • 2. Sleep Aids (Melatonin etc)

In a desperate attempt to sleep during these breaks, I’ve tried every over-the-counter sleep aid I could. Most of them seemed to have either no effect, or do the opposite and just make me even more restless. So instead, I’ll just bare through the first few nights and accept that I just won’t be sleeping much. I’ll still try, but I know I might be staring at the ceiling for a couple hours.

    • 3. Smoking CBD Flower

CBD oil helps me, but smoking cbd flower does the opposite. If I smoke some cbd, it’s like I have the flavor, feel and ritual of herb, but the effects i’m really searching for just aren’t there, which makes me crave some regular herb even harder. This isn’t to say CBD doesn’t have it’s uses for some people, but when I’m on a break, I just want the buzz that I’m used to, and smoking CBD makes me miss it even more. So, I’ll just not even mess around with it.

    Coming Back To Smoking:

So, you’ve made it to the end of your break. What now? Personally, I try to come back smoking as little as possible, to maintain the benefits as long as possible. If I start immediately wake n baking, and smoking all day long, it quickly feels like I never took a break at all. All that effort and time for nothing!

Instead, I like to ease back in to it as much as I possibly can. It doesn’t always work out like I want it to, but ideally when I come back, I’m only smoking in the evenings, after finishing everything in my day. No wake n bakes and much more moderation, so that I can continue to enjoy having a low tolerance and feeling as buzzed as possible off of my herb.

    Conclusion

I get the best results by choosing to dig into life, rather than sit around focusing on how much I want to smoke.

    Lineage: Permanent Marker x Soap

The nose on this one is mostly gassy and skunky, with just a touch of floral lemon in the background. Smells a little bit chemically, almost like smelling an actual sharpie.

The cure is okay, not exactly my favorite, but not bad at all. Nugs are pretty dense, not super moist, a little bit sticky, but not as sticky as most bags I get from LIT.

That being said, this one really hits. The potency is not lost at all, it’s a very strong high. After vaping a bowl, I had to take a minute to sit down and let an entire cold sweat pass over me, I was not expecting to get so blasted at all. That feeling quickly turned into a very relaxing high, everything slowed down and I could just feel a smile forming on my face.

To me, Sharpiez feels perfect for staying in all day and getting lost in some good movies or books. I feel like I could really focus on a movie right now, and I definitely don’t feel like doing much else after that bowl. I don’t think I COULD use it for much else with how hard it hits me 😂

The nose on this one is great, nice and strong. Pretty heavy on the gas scent, like strong fuel with a decent amount of a sweet, blueberry citrus cream in the background. It’s definitely delicious! The taste shows off more of the creamy, sherbet side of things.

The high on this one is extremely creative! 3 hits in and my brain was just flooded with new ideas for all sorts of different artsy projects and things I now want to get done. It is a VERY nice buzz, in my opinion! Very calming, uplifting and just fun feeling. This one also got me feeling very chatty. I’m usually a pretty quiet person (if you couldn’t tell from my style of video 😂) but this strain had me so invested in a conversation with my family. this one would be great for anyone with social anxiety, or maybe people finding themselves in a creative slump. It’ll get that spark right back!

Nugs are just about perfectly cured. Nice and sticky, trichomes stretch apart, and it lasts a nice long time in both the vape and a regular old bowl. Overall, I’m very happy with this strain, and it’s definitely my new go to for anything that requires creativity and a calm focus. Thanks for reading, and happy smoking!

  • The Flower Mill – A Great Grinder Alternative!

The Flower Mill – A Great Grinder Alternative!

I’ve had the same grinder for about 10 years now. After updating all of my other smoking accessories, I decided it was time to upgrade my grinder game. After seeing a couple recommendations for the Flower Mill, I decided to pull the trigger. I’m so glad I did!

This video of mine sums it up here, and shows how quickly it grinds.

But essentially, this is the best “grinder” I’ve ever bought. I put that in quotes because it’s not truly a grinder, it has no teeth! Instead, it uses a rotating plate and stationary screen to mill your herb, keeping it fluffy and perfectly uniform.

A regular grinder’s teeth just tear up the flower and damage it’s trichomes, while getting clogged up with sticky kief. With the Flower Mill, there are no clogs, and your flower stays potent and flavorful.

    One of the best parts is that you can swap out the milling screen for a total of 5 different grind sizes. The default is 3, here are a few examples of the others;

Overall, I’ve been very happy with how the herb comes out in this. It stays so fluffy and airy that you can actually feel the difference in the smoke. With the different size screens, I can have the perfect grind for different vape setups, or just a typical blunt, whatever the occasion calls for.

I couldn’t see myself going back to a regular grinder!

  • Ruby Twist – Review/Experience

A review of the Ruby Twist Kit by VgoodieZ

First off, I feel that it’s important to explain just a little bit about my background and experience with both cannabis and vaporizers, just so you have an idea of who this review is coming from, and gauge how it may or may not relate to your personal situation.

    Vaporizer Experience:

This is my first and only ‘ball’ vape. I have previously owned a portable dry herb vape, the Arizer Solo II. I was not a huge fan of how much time that device took for one session, and how little vapor I got with each hit.

    Cannabis Experience:

I’ve been smoking, dabbing and eating weed all day, every day for the past 15 years, with just a few breaks in between. High quality flower and concentrates from California, Michigan, Colorado and everywhere in between. My daily routine can easily involve smoking 3 grams of flower, taking several rosin dabs, and eating 200-500mg of edibles, all before noon. I’m genuinely not saying this to brag, I don’t even think that it is one. Why I’m getting into this will become apparent a little bit later.

    My Preconceptions

When doing my research on what ball vape should be my first, I kept seeing the same phrase mentioned over and over: “It makes your flower hit like a dab!” I was pretty hesitant to believe that one. I figured “they must just have low tolerances, surely it won’t hit me like that, right?”

    Wrong!

I was also hesitant to believe that it would be easy to set up. I mean, ball vapes sound complicated as a complete beginner. The concept of going from a lighter, to a heated coil and ruby balls, sounded pretty intimidating.

    Also wrong!

    First Impressions:

Right out of the box, I could tell it would be easier to get setup than I had thought. I bought mine from VgoodieZ as a kit, so it came entirely assembled, just had to plug it in, let it “heat soak” for 5 minutes according to the instructions, then it was good to go! The bowl it came with fit right into the bong I had already owned, and was ready to pack and go. (After I cleaned it and my bong with isopropyl alcohol, just to be clean.)

It was very simple, and I hardly even needed the instructions to figure out how to work it. It’s pretty intuitive to just pack the bowl, put the metal coil on it, and rip some clouds!

And let me tell you, this thing RIPS! It gives me just as much cloud-action as this same bong did with combustion, except the bowls actually last longer! I get several huge hits out of the same amount of flower as one combusted bong hit. And the best part is, it truly feels like a dabbing experience. The people who had said that were so exactly right! Each hit is a super flavorful, potent burst of terpenes and flavors, that hit you immediately right between the eyes, just like a dab would. Due to my tolerance, I thought that I would disagree with this, but I was very wrong, it really is just like dabbing.

In the first few days, I was under the impression that lower temps would be best for smooth vapor, so I was hitting it at about 500f, and found a lot of my strains to be relatively harsh at that temperature. I brushed it off, figuring I just needed to get used to the new device.

    Thoughts After One Month:

A month in, and I’m still loving this device. I haven’t even wanted to try combusting my green again, it just feels like that would be a waste, and taste terrible as well. I’ve adjusted to using the device at 550, the higher temperature actually makes for a smoother hit.

After running this daily for a month, probably thousands of bowls in by this point, I can tell you that it STILL hits me like a dab. Tolerance buildup hasn’t been much of a thing at all, I’m still getting absolutely ripped off this thing, despite being pretty used to it at this point. I consistently feel like I used to as a beginner stoner, getting as high as I did years and years ago. It’s been amazing!

Another benefit is in my lungs. As a daily smoker for so long, my lungs were really feeling it, I had a smokers cough and everything. Since getting used to the switch, I haven’t had any cough at all.

I also smell better, in addition to all my clothes and my whole house as well. When using the Ruby Twist, the room will still smell, but it seems to go away entirely in about 15 minutes. When I used to smoke out my window, I’d be able to smell it hours later.

Since making the switch, I no longer need ash trays at all. Instead, I fill a jar with my already-vaped-bud, and just mix it in to ice cream later on. Since it’s been ‘decarbed’ by the vape process already, it’s ready to eat and be absorbed in the body! No need to cook it in to edibles, like with traditional flower. It takes longer to kick in than a regular edible, but it lasts a long time and hits pretty hard.

    Overall Thoughts:

I’m absolutely considering this the best purchase I’ve made in years.

    1. It’s definitely healthier. The older I get, the more important that is to me.

    2. It’s just fun! After smoking for years, it’s great to have an option that’s not only hard hitting, but just fresh and new.

    3. It saves weed. Weed is very possibly one of my biggest expenses. Don’t get me wrong, I can afford it, but it’s always nice to cut costs down on something you go through a lot of!

In conclusion, the only thing that I regret is taking so long to pull the trigger on this. I’d been reading about ball vapes, and how great they are, for well over a year before making this leap. That’s a whole year that I could’ve been enjoying weed more, while harming my body less.

Don’t be like me! Grab your Ruby Twist Kit here at VgoodieZ, I don’t see how anyone could regret it. I used code ‘Buddy5’ at checkout, to bring the whole kit down to just $190 in total, shipped to my door and everything.

Addition: Later on, I bought the ‘Cell’ water pipe that’s made to be used with these devices. It’s a very nice addition to my collection, and the Ruby Twist sits perfectly on top of it, letting me use it hands free, a little bit. I love it, and the showerhead percolator inside of it. However, if I could go back in time, I would buy the bigger ‘Cell Mega’ for a little bit more money, just so it would sit with more stability on my counter. It’s not unstable, but I’ve almost knocked it over a couple times. I don’t think the big guy would have budged! If you’re just buying a water pipe attachment, you can use code ‘Buddy10’ at checkout for 10% off.

Differen’t options you could buy, and the attached discount codes that I used. You could just buy the ruby twist bundle and use it with any bong you have at home, or you could buy the bundle with the glass included, or just the glass itself if you need. You DO NOT need all of these items to use the Ruby Twist.
